By Linda Chiem (Nov 8, 2021, 8:40 p.m. EST) – The Sixth Circuit on Monday dropped the antitrust lawsuit by German auto parts supplier Prevent Group alleging that Volkswagen was illegally maintaining control over its suppliers, saying Prevent’s claims should be heard in Germany, where they are already engaged in a protracted litigation against Volkswagen on the same issues.

A three-judge panel of the appeals court upheld a Michigan federal judge’s dismissal in March of a lawsuit brought under Sherman Act by two subsidiaries of the Prevent Group – Prevent USA Corp. and Eastern Horizon Group Netherlands BV – for forum non conveniens reasons.
