AEC Announces New Virtual Seminar For Automotive Industry | Company
WAUCONDA, Illinois – (BUSINESS WIRE) – August 3, 2021–
The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) presents an educational seminar for automotive industry design engineers, OEMs and leading suppliers. The AEC Automotive Virtual Seminar, September 28-29, 2021, includes two general half-day sessions with experts from the aluminum extrusion industry discussing the design of automotive components, alloys aluminum extrusion, aluminum durability, extrusion applications and more.
The AEC Automotive seminar will be held online and participation is free. The seminar program and registration details are available at www.aec.org/AutoSeminar.
Speakers include extruders who serve the automotive industry with extensive programs, certifications, and robust engineering resources, as well as the metals suppliers they work with. The program provides participants with a better understanding of aluminum extrusions and the aluminum extrusion process, as well as the design and processing considerations necessary to ensure a successful and profitable automotive aluminum extrusion program.

Nick Parson of Rio Tinto Aluminum will deliver “Extrusions for Automotive Crash Applications”, which describes the results of a test program to examine the crash behavior of a range of alloys for automotive applications as a function of the parameters treatment, including artificial aging. In addition, “Elevated Temperature Exposure Effects: A Comparison of 6xxx-Series and 7xxx-Series Alloys”, written by Danielle Williamson and David Lukasak of Hydro Extrusions, will be presented.
