Everrati Automotive Limited (Everrati), the world’s leading technology company specializing in redefining and enduring automotive icons, has revealed all the technical details of its new zero-emission high-performance version of the legendary GT40, a flagship that sets new standards for electrified classics.

Continuing the legacy of one of the world’s most desirable cars, the meticulous attention applied by Everrati includes the creation of the company’s own EV propulsion platform, using development processes and technology from automotive OEM level, combined with the latest advanced technologies. electric motors and batteries.

Leveraging the exceptional experience of Everrati’s engineering team, which has accumulated over 50 years of working with automotive OEMs, and the strong strategic partnerships it has developed with leading component manufacturers , the technology presented by the GT40 has been fully proven at the highest level. possible standards, certified from high volume vehicle applications.

Everrati’s rigorous technical expertise, applied to all facets of project development, ensures that the performance and characteristics of the original car are maintained and improved where necessary.

Based in Oxford, UK, Everrati teamed up with Superformance in July last year with a mission to precisely redesign the legendary Le Mans winning car with a bespoke electric drivetrain for an emission-free future. Superformance, based in Jupiter, Florida, is a world leader in manufacturing 1960s continuation component sports cars and produces a rolling chassis for the license-built GT40.

As a result, the Everrati is the only GT40 EV in the world listed on the official Shelby registry.

Mike Kerr, Everrati Engineering Director: “Sustaining a car of legendary GT40 status is both a privilege and an exciting responsibility. Quality and authenticity are paramount at every step. That’s why, at Everrati, we insist that the entire design and development process be documented and controlled using OEM-derived practices. Using Everrati Model V design and product delivery methods ensures that quality is maintained at every stage of the vehicle development process, from concept through post-production validation.

“Everrati provides the world’s best electric cars and preserves the original features of the old masters we work on, so they can be enjoyed by aficionados in the era of zero-emission mobility.”

Proprietary EV technology

All engineering development has been carried out at Everrati’s UK headquarters in Upper Heyford, a former US airbase in the English Cotswolds, focusing on delivering the exhilarating levels of performance and driving engagement that enthusiasts commitment would expect from a redefined version of such a legendary car, while retaining the soul and integrity of the original.

Everrati’s proprietary state-of-the-art EV powertrain generates up to 800hp and 800Nm of torque, with cutting-edge Integral Powertrain technology providing two OEM-validated high-performance radial flux permanent magnet electric motors that power the axle back of the car.

High-power-density 60kWh lithium-ion battery integrated into an industry-leading 700-volt electrical system benefits from advanced liquid-cooling and thermal and safety management systems to enable high-performance road use and on the track. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% via an 80kW CCS fast charger in as little as 45 minutes and offers a range of over 125 miles.

To ensure optimal weight distribution and improve vehicle dynamics, every element of the powertrain, including the battery and driveline, utilizes existing chassis structural mounting points. The batteries are positioned in the sills and behind the driver and passenger, while the low positioning of the battery in the chassis also optimizes rear visibility.

This meticulous approach means the GT40 offers a 40/60 front/rear weight distribution, better even than the original 1966 GT40 MKII A that raced at Le Mans (38/62), while its curb weight of 1,320 kg makes it 47 kg lighter. than a fully fueled vehicle in period, too.

The 6.52:1 compound single-reduction transmission system and race-derived limited-slip differential used are fully optimized for the high-performance dual electric motor installation system. Designed to deliver efficient, lightning-fast power, the Everrati GT40 delivers blistering acceleration, hitting 60 mph in less than four seconds, and a top speed of over 125 mph.

Evocative soundtrack synchronized with driver-controlled gear changes

But there’s more to the GT40 than sensational performance. Making the car as characterful, attractive and fun to drive as possible was also a critical goal. Using technology developed for high-end racing simulators and existing high-end EV sports cars, Everrati gives the driver the ability to conjure up the visceral engagement of the original GT40 in “race mode”.

By selecting this mode, the driver (and passenger) experience two active sound generators, which deliver up to 110dB of enhanced V8 exhaust sound.

The gear lever – which is normally used to select drive, reverse or neutral – also allows the driver to select virtual gears, with each gear change being synchronized with the sound generators and torque delivery giving a corresponding momentary “pause” in acceleration to ensure driver engagement that evokes the experience of driving a car with a conventional transmission.

Seat-mounted transducers further immerse the driver in a seductive sound experience that is truly captivating.

Safety is also a priority, with the car’s sophisticated motorsport-derived user display interface providing the driver with extensive live data on the performance and status of every element of the EV powertrain. With driver authorization, an on-board 4G data logger provides additional security by allowing remote access to Everrati engineers for diagnostic purposes.

Ready to meet global demand

The development of the GT40 is also part of Everrati’s ever-increasing ability to meet growing demand for its electric classics through the successful application of its repeatable and scalable production process, made possible by the development of its own propulsion platform, which allows application to most conventional vehicles, regardless of drivetrain. This business model will allow the company to quickly establish manufacturing partnerships in new markets around the world as interest in Everrati vehicles continues to grow. Everrati has already entered into a strategic partnership with Aria Group in Irvine, California, to begin building electric versions of the Porsche 964 (911) for the US market.

Mike Kerr, Everrati Engineering Director: “A car like the GT40 comes with a heritage and performance that raises high expectations. Through our strategic partnership with Superperformance, we are confident that we have delivered something extraordinary. Everrati’s engineering team is extremely proud to have been given the honor of creating the only GT40 EV in the world to feature on the official Shelby registry. Our OEM-derived process approach resulted in a car with exceptional performance. At the same time, our advanced driver-focused visceral engagement technology will allow drivers to access a fully immersive sound experience and rekindle the romance of when the GT40 dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1960s. , into a new era of zero-emission electric mobility.

Everrati Founder and CEO, Justin Lunny: “The GT40 personifies the Everrati philosophy. While many companies perform electric conversions of classic cars, our approach goes far beyond that. Deploying an OEM mindset and skill set, we redefine the vehicle as a new car with state-of-the-art design and engineering executed by a team with extensive experience at some of the world’s most famous automakers. The GT40 shows how Everrati takes the art of timeless automotive icons through electrification to the next level. And with a scalable production process in place and an ambitious strategy of working with new manufacturing partners, we are ready to grow the business and engage with a new global customer base for the GT40 and our other models.
