SAN FRANCISCO, November 30, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Quick navigation, a San Francisco-based technology company that redefines Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and precise positioning technology for autonomous vehicles, automotive, mobile and consumer applications, today announced its support for the new STMicroelectronics Teseo V The Teseo V family is a single chip, triple frequency GNSS device for automotive use. The Swift team worked with ST to ensure the optimization of Swift’s precise positioning solution, consisting of the Starling® Skylark ™ Positioning Engine and Precise Positioning Service — when paired with the STA8135GA Teseo V, the world’s first single-chip triple-band GNSS integrated circuit (integrated circuit).

The triple frequency capabilities of the STA8135GA provide robust, high-quality GNSS data required for high accuracy in automotive, consumer and mobile applications. When combined with corrections from Swift Skylark’s precise positioning service, applications can achieve centimeter accuracy. The Starling Positioning Engine combines GNSS measurements with data from inertial measurement units (IMUs) and data from vehicle sensors, further improving the integrity of safety-critical applications.

Since the launch of Starling in 2018, Swift and ST have worked together to deliver a pre-validated combination of hardware and software to customers so that they can benefit from a low-risk, well-tested solution from two market leaders. Together, Swift and ST have innovated and developed products to improve positioning performance for automotive applications.

“Swift appreciates its collaboration with STMicroelectronics and is delighted to demonstrate the proven success of the Teseo V in combination with Swift’s precise positioning solution,” said Holger Ippach, Executive Vice President of Products, Swift. “Our collaboration provides the precision and reliability required by advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous platforms. “

“The Teseo V triple frequency chip combined with Swift precise positioning technology ensures the most accurate and easy to use GNSS receiver chip available,” said Luca Celant, vice president and general manager, Automotive ADAS, ASIC and audio division, STMicroelectronics. “Paired with the Swift precise positioning solution, Teseo V is driving the industry forward towards autonomous vehicles. “
